Clovis, CA – March 29, 2012.  The Team Donate Life - Crystel's Gift Clovis Bike Fest and Health Expo is being held on Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the south parking lot behind Sears at the Sierra Vista Mall. The event is a celebration of health, fitness and active family fun. It is free to attend with free parking.  It will feature a Bike Safety Rodeo, Trike Races, Stationary Bike Races, a huge raffle, booths with health and fitness information, bike demos and more.

Team Donate Life, the Fresno-based team is named after Crystel Stanford who lost her life in a cycling accident in the Fresno foothills in May 2011. A national corporation with a local presence has paid for the title sponsorship of the upcoming Clovis Bike Fest to be held on May 12, 2012 at Sierra Vista Mall. A representative of the donating corporation said that they wanted to support the sport of cycling in general and specifically wanted to help a local charitable group with their donation.  Team Donate Life - Crystel's Gift is an eight-person team of riders who are training to ride in the 3,000 mile Race Across America to raise funds and awareness of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.  Crystel's family donated her organs which went to help improve or save eight people's lives. 

Elisabeth Guevara, one of the team riders, said, "It has been very rewarding to be able to honor Crystel Stanford, her gift of life and spread awareness of organ donation and transplantation.  Our sponsorship of the event will continue to help our cause and mission." As a benefit of sponsorship, the event is now titled the Team Donate Life - Crystel's Gift Clovis Bike Fest. They will also have a prominent booth space at the event and will be featured as part of the official logo, on the t-shirts, on the website and on social media sites.

The Clovis Bike Fest kicks off Clovis Bike Week which culminates in the arrival of the Amgen Tour of California, Stage 4 Finish on May 16. The Amgen Tour is the most prestigious bike race in North America and last appeared in Clovis in 2009.

Sierra Vista Mall is located on the southeast corner of Clovis and Shaw Avenues in Clovis.
