CLOVIS, CA – October 1, 2007 – The local Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream & Treatery at Sierra Vista Mall will celebrate its official Grand Opening celebration on October 6th from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The day’s festivities will include appearances by the Central Valley Coyotes AF2 Dance Team, Clovis Beauty Queens, retired professional boxer Jenifer Alcorn, and Fire Chief Mark Aston, as well as Miss Maggie Moo herself with fun activities for kids of all ages.
In conjunction with the event, the treatery partnered with Children’s Hospital Central California to raise funds to support the fantastic pediatric services the hospital provides. In addition to supporting the hospital’s Change Bandits program, MaggieMoo’s will donate 15 percent of the grand opening day’s sales to the cause. Customers can also contribute by purchasing a cake voucher at the store up to the day of the event on the 6th.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the Clovis community,” says co-owner Preety Khanna. “Our friends and neighbors have been huge supporters of this store since we opened this summer, and this celebration is our small way of saying thank you and giving back.”
“Much of our success depends on the generosity of the community,” says Julie Cusator of Children’s Hospital Central California. “We are excited about our partnership with MaggieMoo’s of Clovis, and appreciate their considerate donation that will help us continue to provide incredible healthcare to children in need.”
The event will officially kick off around 11am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the store. Members of the Central Valley Coyotes Dance Team will be joined by Miss Clovis Chance Williams, Miss Clovis Outstanding Teen Courtney Shorte, retired professional boxer Jenifer Alcorn, and Fire Chief Mark Aston, as well as Ms. Cusator from Children’s Hospital Central California, throughout the day to serve up a few cones as our celebrity ice cream scoopers during this special event.
Fresno Face Art will be on-hand to transform your skin into a masterpiece, and Bowtie the Clown will be at the treatery late in the day to tie up balloon animals & hats for the kids. Magician Tony Blanco
will be dazzling the crowd starting at 2 p.m. with an interactive show sure to stump the quickest audience members.
103.7 Kiss Country FM will be on site from 3 to 5 p.m. to spin some tunes, and visitors won’t want to miss meeting everyone’s favorite spokescow, Miss Maggie Moo.
