WHO:
The Portal to Technopolis Art Exhibit will be celebrated at Center Court on Saturday July 21 from 5pm to 7pm. Local professional, amateur and children artists have created one-of-a-kind art pieces using one common theme; doors! The children’s art was created at the June 28 Kids Express event at Sierra Vista Mall. Sierra Vista Mall restaurants will provide light refreshments at the artist reception.
WHAT:
The word "technopolis", by itself comes from a combination of "technology" and "opolis". Technology is a word with origins in the Greek word technologia, a merger of art and thinking; techne the prefix of the word technologia is also the merger of art/craft (plus logia) and logia means thinking. Technopolis implies a city that uses technology as a tool and recognizes that technological advancement is based on new ideas, visionary developments, and forward-looking devices. Such cities and communities strive to improve their citizenry, and by this process elevate quality of life by offering opportunities for upward mobility to their workforce. The City of Clovis is the creator and sponsor of this event.
The exhibit will be on display July 21 through August 5, throughout the mall.
On August 5, 2007, Sierra Vista Mall will host an auction of the entire Portal to Technopolis entries beginning at 4pm at Center Court. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Fresno Art Council and the Clovis Police Activities League.

Center Court, inside Sierra Vista Mall. Sierra Vista Mall located on the southeast corner of Clovis and Shaw avenues.
WHEN:
Saturday July 21, 2007. Exhibit begins at 10am. Artist reception is from 5pm to 7pm.
WHY:
Sierra Vista Mall and the City of Clovis supports art in its community. We are proud to exhibit original artwork from local area artists of all ages.
